How Do You Sync eBook to Kobo eReader?
The Kobo eReader is a handheld electronic device for reading books, magazines and newspapers. It has a monochromatic e-ink screen designed to simulate the look of paper. You can store e-books on the Kobo's 1GB of flash memory, or on an optional SD memory card (up to 32 GB). The Kobo comes with 100 free books pre-installed. You can add more books by downloading them to the Kobo from the Internet via Wi-Fi, or by connecting to your PC or Mac with a USB cable.
If you have purchased a book and can't get it on the Kobo eReader, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.
Tips: For Kobo users, you may need to remove DRM from Kobo ePub.
Method 1: Sync eBook to Kobo eReader
Step 1. Plug your eReader into your computer(Mac or PC) using the USB cable.
Step 2. If your eReader is charged, you should see two options: "Manage Library" and "Keep Reading". You must select "Manage Library" or the Kobo Desktop software will not see the eReader and will not sync your books.
Step 3. When you select "Manage Library", the device should appear in the bottom right hand corner of the Kobo Desktop software with "Sync" and "Eject" buttons.
Step 4. Click "Sync" the device to sync books to Kobo eReader.
Method 2: Drag and Drop Books with SD Card
Step 1. Insert an SD memory card into a card-reading slot on your computer, or into a slot on a card reader connected to your computer. Drag books stored in the PDF or EPUB format from a folder on your computer to the icon of the SD card on your desktop. Right-click on the SD card and select "eject." Pull it from the slot.
Step 2. Press the "Power" button to turn off the Kobo eReader. Insert the SD card into the SD card slot at the top of the reader, then press the "Power" button to turn on the eReader. It will scan the SD card for books and update your library. You can read books on the card, but you can't copy books from the card to the eReader's internal flash memory.
Step 3. Plug one end of the included USB cable into the USB port on the eReader. Plug the other end into a USB port on your computer. The eReader will prompt you to either continue reading, or to manage your library.
Step 4. Press the navigation pad to select "Manage Library." At the prompt, select "Open Folder to View Files." A window will open on your computer, showing the contents of the eReader.
Step 5. Click on electronic books stored in the EPUB or PDF format in a folder on your computer. Drag them into the eReader window to copy them from your computer to the device.
Hope this tutorial can be useful to help you add eBook to Kobo eReader!
